The Hawks Spread Holiday Cheer With A Little Something Called “You’ve Been Elfed”

As the Hawks softball team gets ready for their upcoming season, they have decided to get together and make Christmas gift baskets for kids.

“Lisa had actually heard about this idea from another team. She asked if they were going to do it and they said, no we could run the fundraiser,” said President of the Board of softball Heather Braun.

This year the team did a fundraiser that is called “You’ve Been Elfed”. The Hawks had made gifts on December 7th from three to seven for elementary school kids. The price for the baskets was $15 per gift. The donation of this money will be going to their upcoming season.

“This fundraiser has more of a team bonding effect than a monterey one. The board thought this was important for the team to get together before the seasons even started. We wanted the new girls to start to get to know the girls that were already on the team and vice versa,” said Braun.

“For our first year running this fundraiser I think the baskets came out so good. My hope is that the kids get excited when they receive their baskets, love everything that is in them and get even more excited about Christmas. I also hope the parents love the baskets and feel some Christmas magic watching their children open them,” said Braun.

The Hawks distributed 36 of these gifts through Beacon Falls and Prospect on Saturday December 13th at 6:00.
