Senior Project Spotlight- Adam Setaro

By Trent Burkowsky

With a new year at Woodland comes new Senior projects. This year, food reviews have become a very popular choice. Students will go to 10 different establishments and review the specific food they choose. They rate these foods based on personal preference and liking. With many students choosing this option, there are various approaches to each senior project.

Many students, like Adam Setaro, conducting pizza reviews and are making good progress. He chose to do this because ¨I got a job in a pizza place (Antonios), it showed me how the pizza is made and what goes into a great pizza,¨ Setaro said.

He is posting his reviews on Instagram under the name: adam_thesauceboss. ¨I try to represent myself as a person through social media. I like to have fun and laugh.¨ He rates the pizza based on 5 categories: presentation, cheese, sauce, undercarriage, and crunch.

He explains his ratings: a one to six is a below-average pizza, a six to seven is a great pie, but it’s not worth traveling for, an eight through ten is an amazing pizza. But he is not just rating pizza, he is ¨ finding new pizza places, different stories, and history. Part of my project is to bring a new person to each place, and I enjoy making a new connection with someone,¨Setaro said.

A big part of senior projects is how your project is going to positively impact the community. ¨Pizza is a pillar of every community. Every Friday or Saturday night, pizza is involved. So finding the best pizza place helps people come together, try new food and new flavors, and finally build connections they may not have previously had.¨

So far, he has done Luna’s pizza (7/10), Modern (8.7/10), Sally’s (8.3/10), The Original Pepes (9.33/10), Anna’s Pizza (8.5/10), Soft Boom Pizza in Guadajarla Mexico (8.1), and Ernie’s Pizza (8.5).

He is still working on five more places to review. For the future, he plans on going to Roselands, Haven, and Zupparities. He is going to finish his project with a tier list of what he thinks are his best to worst places and explain why.
