After a two year break, Dyna-Mic Night returned on March 12, 2026. Anna Cheezic had taken the lead in running the event for her senior project, with a little help from Paul Geary, Creative Writing advisor..
“Dyna-Mic Night is a night to showcase kids’ creativity,” said Geary. And showcase that talent they did.
When Cheezic participated in Dyna-Mic Night her freshman year, it left an impact on her that led her to return as a senior.
“I remember my freshmen year when I participated in Dyna-Mic night. I was in a skit that my friend Finn wrote. It was about two guys who worked in a carnival. I remember getting asked to do it and I hadn’t done something like that before and it was really fun.”
and actually take part in running it.
“During my junior year while working on contact with Mr. Geary, he suggested that I could bring it back and I thought it was a good and creative idea for my senior project. And that was good because I didn’t have an idea for my senior project. And it was something more interesting than anything I had come up with.”
Cheezic was thrilled when the seats of the auditorium were filling far beyond what she expected.
“I think it turned out even better than expected because even though only six people signed up, I didn’t think anyone wanted to,” said Cheezic. “There were people who did it in the past but I didn’t know if anyone was comfortable with performing.
For Geary, he felt the same way.
“We had a nice little crowd of parents and students,” noted Geary.
Cheezic feels that the impact this event has had on our school’s creativity was beneficial for students to feel comfortable and encouraged.
“Certain people hadn’t really hadn’t had a chance to perform like this. Julia Galasso performed a really vulnerable poem, and I think someone watching could see that and think, ‘Oh, wow, I could do that too.’”
Cheezic’s most memorable event from the night was freshman Jackson Davis.
“He was the only one who had a PowerPoint presentation about a video game and it was really fun, and it went on for a pretty long time. It was just nice to get something different than people presenting their music and poetry,” said Cheezic.
Cheezic hopes that this night left an impact and that her legacy will be the continuation of Dyna-Mic in the future.
“We can run another one later in the year and maybe even keep it going next year for more opportunities for the students.”
