As the temperature drops and the leaves fall, the northeast is approaching sweater weather. Hoodies, sweatpants, jackets, flannels, and everything in between is coming back into style. With the start of fall upon us, students are preparing to bundle up and stay warm for the colder seasons. Transitioning to fall fashion can be both fun and rewarding. By layering, incorporating seasonal colors, and making accessory choices, anyone can create a stylish and comfortable autumn wardrobe.
Everyone knows the excitement that comes when you lay out your most comfortable pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt for the next school day.
“Sweatpants are very comfortable; they make me feel very warm and cozy,” said Freshman McKenna Chuck. “When I’m in school I feel like I am in bed.”
Your school day comfortability is elevated when you can show up in the same clothes that you sleep in. Education is not easy, but it does make it a little bit better when you can feel cozy and safe in your own attire.
Sweatpants and sweatshirts aren’t the only fall favorite. The Ugg slippers are also very widely known and popular among the student body. Uggs are made for fall, with their neutral colors and textured rims and are the perfect shoe for any fall outfit.
“Uggs are my favorite fall shoe. They keep my feet warm and comfortable,” said junior Peyton Geary. The shoes are mostly perfect for the season. Their only downfall is that they soak your feet when they get there. You can waterproof them with a special spray.
“Be careful of the morning dew,” mentioned junior Megan Murray.
Uggs are by far the most popular fall shoe to wear. Whether it’s the boots or the Tasman Uggs, everyone seems to be rocking them.
But when does sweater weather officially begin? Everyone has their own viewpoint on what is too cold, and what is not.
“I would say 62 degrees or below is cold enough,” said Chuck.
Some people believe that sixty degrees and lower is by far cold enough to call it on the shorts and t-shirts. Others need it to be a little cooler to transition.
“50 degrees, because that’s a little frigid,” mentioned Junior Caitlyn Braun.
Everyone has their own threshold when it comes to dressing warm. In Woodland, some classrooms tend to fluctuate in temperature. Oftentimes it can be best to layer up. Having the option to cool off by removing layers may be the smartest option in these temperature trials. Always remember to keep a sweatshirt in your car, and have a t-shirt on stand by. You never know what you will walk out of the door to these days.
