When thinking about Thanksgiving people often think about the turkey, the stuffing, cranberry sauce and more. But, it’s no surprise that some people are not the biggest fan of these dishes. This year, we set out to try and craft Woodland’s perfect Thanksgiving feast, using only five foods.
Among the fan favorites was no doubt a staple in the feast, everyone’s favorite dessert, pies. However, there wasn’t just one that the people liked in particular, a variety of pies such as Chocolate Cream, Pumpkin and Apple were chosen for Woodland’s Thanksgiving Feast.
“I would pick pumpkin pie because I love desert and I feel like it is the perfect end to the meal,” said food enthusiast Olivia Brunetti.
Next up, the star of the show Mashed Potatoes, with their creamy consistency and their tasty flavors, this is sure to be one of the items brought to the Woodland Thanksgiving Feast. Mashed Potatoes known for being buttery soft and amazingly delicious, this is sure to be one of the top five foods at the Woodland Feast.
“Mashed Potatoes are simply the best,” said Thanksgiving food connoisseur Zoe Kindt.
Next up perhaps an unexpected surprise to add to the feast, Macaroni and Cheese. An untraditional food when it comes to what people typically eat at Thanksgiving, but no doubt a staple in Woodland’s feast, and popular among the students. A nostalgic food that people’s moms made from scratch or from a box, but delicious nonetheless, often brings people back to their childhood.
Lastly, an iconic pairing, one cannot be had without the other, stuffing and gravy. Many varieties of stuffing are made with traditional ingredients celery, onions or non-traditional ingredients such as apples and carrots. Gravy is also the perfect pairing for mashed potatoes, and many other dishes.
“I love gravy. It can be put on almost anything on a typical Thanksgiving plate,” said Thanksgiving food lover, Emma DeGeorge. “It makes all other food better.”
So, there you have Woodland’s Perfect Thanksgiving Feast. Regardless of Woodland’s Thanksgiving Feast, there are so many delicious dishes that are made on Thanksgiving throughout the Woodland community.
