Athletics at Woodland are bigger than just a competition for students; it represents so much more. Athletes at Woodland are constantly showing a reflection of their commitment, perseverance, teamwork and achievements in their sports. These student athletes dedicate hours of their lives to training, games, practices and other activities. An athlete ceremony provides an opportunity for them to get recognized for all of their hard work and dedication they have given to Woodland. It is a moment to celebrate with friends and family by their side and to acknowledge the achievements of these athletes.
The ceremony took place on May 20th, 2026, at 6:30 in the auditorium. Students, families and community members were invited to attend and come together to celebrate their athlete. Snacks were available to guests and all athletes. The purpose of the ceremony was to give the athletes who have committed to a college the opportunity to speak about their athletic careers at Woodland, reflecting on their experiences and sharing why they chose their specific colleges. To make the event more special, posters were made for each individual athlete.
Woodland’s signing ceremony is more than just a celebration; it’s a meaningful send-off for students that both closes a chapter and opens a brand new one with many new opportunities. It recognized the tremendous hard work, dedication, and growth these athletes have shown throughout their time at Woodland. While also bringing their community together in support of their future. As each student moves on to compete at the collegiate level, this event serves as a reminder of how far they have come since freshman year. Each student got up and spoke in front of the people who love and care about them while surrounded by their fellow athletes.
