Playing a sport that is mainly about your mentality, Morgan Sweet, senior captain of girls tennis, knows that your head-space has to be strongest on the court.
Approaching the 2026 season with a confident feeling, Sweet guides the team to improve their performance, maintain a great attitude, and build stronger bonds.
Sweet has been playing tennis since she was a freshman in high school, and can’t believe that this is her last year. She loves the sport and will miss both team practices and playing in matches.
“I will miss mixed doubles tournaments,” said Sweet.
Since the beginning of the season, she has been a role model to the team, leading warm-ups and encouraging a positive environment.
During matches, players could always count on her to be there, watching and supporting them. The second a player gets off the court she tells them how good they did or wishes them good luck before.
Sweet has an encouraging personality and pushes her team to always do their best.
With an optimistic outlook, she always sees the best in every situation, often telling teammates to “keep going” when they feel discouraged.
“Everyone should try tennis; it’s a sport you inevitably improve in.”
