Falling for Autumn

Fall is a season for new beginnings, drinking pumpkin spice lattes, feeling the cool breeze and watching the leaves turn beautiful colors.

Not warm enough to be wearing shorts, but not cold enough to be in layers, it’s the perfect weather to wear cute fall outfits that match the fall vibe which some people love. Cherry red and chocolate brown are the most worn fall colors, and are currently trending right now.

Whether it’s a Friday night and you’re on the way to support your school’s football game, or if you’re just going for a walk, nothing compares to the feeling that fall gives and some people wish it could last longer.

“I look forward to pumpkin flavored desserts, and the cozy vibe,” said Hannah Murray.

“I love to go to festivals, go pumpkin and apple picking,” said Olivia Jevarjian.

Pumpkin pies, apple crisps, and apple cider donuts seem to be the most popular and most loved fall dessert. If you’re looking for somewhere to get the perfect fall treat, or to go apple picking, Rogers Orchards in Southington or Lyman Orchards in Middlefield are the best places to go.

In the fall, there are so many festivals to attend. The Big E in Springfield, Massachusetts is a huge fair full of games, rides, and tons of food. If you’re looking for something closer by, there are many options. In Prospect, there is the annual Pumpkin Festival that will be hosted October 17th, and there is also the Harvest Fest in Hartford hosted on the weekend of October 11th. These festivals are hosted every year, and will definitely put you in that fall state of mind.

Fall is a time where everyone’s calendar is filled with sports and events, and everyone is looking forward to something: Halloween, haunted hayrides, Thanksgiving, pumpkin picking, pumpkin pies, pumpkin lattes (anything pumpkin really), football games, festivals, spirit week, cute outfits, perfect weather, or the beautiful sight of the red, orange and yellow/brown leaves.

“Fall is best spent when you’re hanging out with friends, and going to football games,” said Abby Gallo.

Apart from the packed schedule and thousands of events, fall also has a second side. Long walks, the smell of fall scented candles, and cooler weather triggers a calm feeling that helps most people feel more relaxed.

New beginnings, a fresh start, and a good state of mind is almost the perfect way to describe the season of fall.
