Story by Brielle Philbrick
After a long winter as a student at Woodland Regional High school, what’s better than being outside in the warm weather? Being able to enjoy the warm sun, soak up a tan, play spring sports, smell the blooming flowers, and be happy.
After a winter of doing nothing except being cold, it’s always nice to do something outside again. Fresh air refreshes the soul and makes everyone happier. Spring sports are beginning; you can hear the high pitched ping of a bat hitting the ball, the powerful swing of rackets hitting tennis balls back and forth on the court, and the sharp sound of a track runner’s shoes hitting the ground.
With more light in the days, students have more motivation. Outside of school, people are more likely to hike, walk, run, exercise, and participate in outside activities.
“I am most excited about the warm weather in spring,” said Junior Sophia DeGennaro.
Excited that it’s finally warm, people are also rushing to nearby ice cream shops that are starting to open again. That’s how you know it’s spring.
The smell of the fresh air, or the fresh scent of rain, is enjoyable to many people. As flowers are blooming, trees are budding, and the birds are chirping, everything just seems more alive.
“ I am most excited about the sun coming back out,” said Junior Zoe Moriarty.
This shift in season brings natural happiness and positivity to many people. Everyone’s mood is genuinely lifted as soon as spring hits, because spring doesn’t just change the weather; it also changes our whole vibe.
Spring is a much loved season because it helps lift everyone out of the long winter and chase away their winter depression. Many people like Junior Ashley Litke love how this season can instantly brighten and change their whole personality within seconds.
“I am most excited about being tan again.”
